All our private cottages are thoughtfully designed blending the indigenous architectural knowledge with modern features and comforts, without disturbing the terraces where paddy were once grown and including the natural streams in our landscaping. The idea was to recreate a warm feeling of home. Every cottage has their private outdoor area from where you can enjoy the winter sun. The public pathways are away from the units for your privacy.

The primary materials used for our cottages are locally sourced timber, bamboo and mud. The indigenous technique known as Ikra or wattle & daub as well as locally sun-dried compressed earth blocks (CSEB) for the washrooms. This means, the rooms are cool during the day and warm during the night and we're earthquake resistant. Our windows are strategically placed to harness the natural sunlight and wind direction while giving you the ever-changing view of the hills. 

The cottages are a collaborative creative and painstaking effort with Studio Interweave Gangtok, Wartao Aamo Natural Builders Kalimpong, teams of over 80 skilled indigenous and local craftsmen from Kalimpong, those from the plains who call Kalimpong their home and many friends!

Our amenities are on par with hotel standards - private ensuite washrooms with hot and cold shower, bucket mug & bathroom stool (on request), a hairdryer, comfortable king-size or 2 single beds with premium linen, wardrobe, study table, adequate electrical points for your devices, tea & coffee kits, toiletries with dental kits, premium bath linen, room heater during the winter, stand fan during the summers, mosquito repellent during the monsoon and cane furniture in the verandah.

We have started out with 4 cottages - 2 for young couples and the young at heart (since they have a loft) - Oong Lee (Water House) and Long Lee (Rock House) named in the local Rongring (Lepcha Language). 2 for older guests (loft-less rooms) - Sagaor Lee (Cliff House) & Sofyum Lee (Breeze House).

We will soon be introducing 2 cottages for families and persons with accessibility needs (in the family rooms with loft). 

Guests on a budget, Backpackers as well as school/ college campers can be accommodated in 4 dormitory rooms with 4 bunk beds in each, a total of 16 persons. 

If you are wildly adventurous, you are welcome to pitch your tent on our farm terraces overlooking the main peak of the Kanchenjunga and still make use of our public washroom & bath, laundry and dining facilities.

Our staff, all ambassadors of the local villages, will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, safe and enjoyable.
